My water meter is not inside the building, how do I know what is “downstream” of the water meter?

The ideal location for the sensor is inside the property close to where the main water line enters the building. The sensor is placed downstream of the water meter on the pipe before it splits to multiple branches and convenient to a power outlet. If the first known pipe in your location is not near the water meter, you will have use visual clues to identify how water is flowing. For instance, if you have a lever for a shut off valve, it typically points in the direction of water flow. If you identify that water is flowing from bottom to top, then you would be able to identify where the pipe splits to multiple branches and place your H2know accordingly.
