How do leak alerts work?

H2know is constantly monitoring for leaks. When a catastrophic leak is identified (such as a pipe bursting or equipment failing), a text or email notification is sent with urgent messaging. When H2know identifies a suspected leak that should be assessed and/or fixed, it provides you with all the information needed to investigate to see if action is needed.

To receive leak alerts via email or text, go to Settings > Notifications In the Water Monitor App and subscribe to notifications by sensor.

Suspected leak events are published to the Leak Dashboard in the Water Monitor App and ranked by severity:

  • Red is an indication of a critical leak or unusual water use that should be addressed immediately.
  • Orange indicates that there is unusual water use that is potentially causing unwanted water loss.
  • Yellow is an unusual or new pattern of water behavior that may or may not be causing water loss.

Red, Orange, and Yellow alerts are published into the Leak Dashboard four times a day. Each alert message will contain the start time of the leak, the amount of water associated with the leak, and if it is associated with a fixture, the fixture classification. All the information needed to investigate to see if action is required.
