Where do I place H2know?

The ideal location for the sensor is inside the property close to where the main water line enters the building. The sensor is placed downstream of the water meter on the pipe before it splits to multiple branches and convenient to a power outlet. 

Some things to keep in mind:

• If your property has multiple pipe sizes, a smaller size likely indicates that the system has already branched. Look for a larger size. The first size appropriate run before the pipe branches is where you should place the sensor.
• In many buildings, you will see a shut off valve before and after the water meter. If the lever is perpendicular to the pipe, the water is off. If you are unsure of the direction of water flow, the lever typically points in the direction of flow.
